Ben Kalow is a designer, illustrator and printmaker working in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. His artistic practice grows from a lifelong love of learning-by-doing.
Raised in a creative and adventurous family, he was introduced to art, history, and travel at an early age. Time spent exploring the U.S., Japan, China, Europe, and Mexico continue to inform and inspire his artistic curiosity.
Ben eared a degree in studio art from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) in 1997, and has since worked as a product and graphic designer for a wide range of industries. He began woodblock printing in 2019 as a creative outlet beyond client-driven illustration.
Ben’s work explores diverse printmaking techniques, traditions, and subject-matter, both as craft and means of visual communication.
